Arjun malhotra biography

Arjun Malhotra (born 7th January 1949) is a pioneer of the Indian IT industry, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He along with 5 friends co-founded HCL, the prominent face of Indian IT from back in late 70s’,  and was the Vice Chairman till 1998.

Malhotra has a long string of entrepreneurial successes. He serves as the Chairman of SolMark and Magic Software Inc. and is on the Board of several companies. Malhotra gave a boost to telecommunication education in India by endowing and establishing G S Sanyal School of Telecommunication at IIT Kharagpur in 1996.

Early Life

Malhotra was born in Calcutta, West Bengal in India to Major Mehr Chand Malhotra and Dr. Prabha Malhotra. He spent his early years growing up there with his grandparents, Dr Sunder Lal Hora and Mrs.

Vidya Hora.
