The Moscow Russian Patriarchate Choir was founded in 1980 by Anatoly Grindenko in the Trinity Lavra of St.
Sergius monatery, near Moscow. Following tradition, it comprises between twelve and thirteen members. The singers are all eminent researchers, passionately devoted to the repertoire for male voices, from the religious music of the Orthodox Church to the lay songs of the final years of the Soviet regime.
